The Road to Self-Discovery and “Confront”ability

In this episode, Nick Tiger, Associate General Counsel at Upgrade, Inc., reflects on his journey to self-discovery, guided by his ability to see the bigger picture. Identifying as a cisgender gay man, who lives with ADHD, it is no surprise that Nick had barriers to overcome. However, what society classified as hindrances, Nick transformed into stimulants for personal development and motivation to step outside the binary box. Nick’s unique experience navigating his intersectionality enabled him to become the version of himself that functions proudly in his strengths, confronts the need for change, and sparks his desire to create more equitable spaces. Nick highlights how the recognition of one’s gifts is vital to success and to not be discouraged by what you lack, but rather inspired by the vision of what you can become. Nick notes that becoming visionary is dependent upon how much effort you are willing to put into your personal development. Listen as Nick challenges his audience to be transparent, defy the normative narrative, be willing to learn, and understand that we are not limited by our “limitations”.
