Beating the Odds and Finding Success on Her Terms

In this episode, Salumeh Loesch, Of Counsel at Klarquist Sparkman, LLP–a full-service Intellectual Property firm in Portland, Oregon–shares her experience as both an immigrant and a woman of color finding her way to personal and professional fulfillment.  Though Salumeh came to this country at the tender age of five, with no English or any understanding of American culture, she managed to excel at school, with an undergraduate degree from Cornell and a law school degree from the University of Michigan. She then went on to a successful career in patent litigation while creating and maintaining a home life with her husband and three small children.  Through it all, Salumeh has kept her sense of humor and her humility.
